Falling into Fall

Its October!  We had our first sort of storm, so leaves were everywhere this morning!  T has been asking to paint something for a few days now and I saw this awesome idea on Pinterest (If you haven't looked at Pinterest.com  check it out!) so with leaves everywhere it was the perfect time!

Painting our leaves
K, very proud of hers!

This one was T's

T's stamped onto paper (the black is a tree trunk)

T's finished product
T's 2nd creation, its an entire black and purple tree (without leaves...its fall)
For being 2 K's came out awesome!

This one was a group effort!

There is... Sunday and there is Monday.....

(Think Adams Family song)  There is Tuesday and there is Wednesday, There is Thursday and there is Friday... Then there is Saturday!  Days of the week (clap clap), days of the week (clap clap)!  Yes, we sing this cheesy song every morning as we do our Calender!  The kids love it, beg for it, and it helps me get them dressed in the morning!  I won't do the calender until they are dressed!  This is the start of our school day!

We start by counting the days of the month to get to today!

We also check the weather, They have the best time deciding what it looks
like each morning, Also because we live near the coast the weather changes
day long, and they are on top of it also changing the card all day long!

Working on "Today, Yesterday, & Tomorrow"

K is sure to include herself in on the action!
Our Calender wall!  Its actually located in our hallway!
Wall space is prime real estate in our small house, but this
spot seems to be working out just perfectly!

Why do I blog?

In case you are wondering why I do this there are a few reasons:

  • Its a great way for my parents to keep up with whats going on with us!  They are retired and traveling around half the year and they just don't 'get' facebook!  They need a basic web address!
  • We just started homeschooling and I think this will be a great way to document our journey, yes there are a ton of blogs about homeschooling already (and some are amazing with awesome info)  but Im planning to use this for looking back and seeing how far we have come and how I've grown!
  • I like the idea of journaling, but realistically I need a more modern place to do this this then just a simple notebook!  I prefer a keyboard to a pen!
So there are a few reasons, Im sure more will come up and I will continue to add them to the list!

Recycling Craft...

T has been begging to recycle things... so in the spirit of re-using we did a craft with an empty glass jar (it previously had jelly in it).  This really didn't take much, just some leftover tissue paper, cut into small random shaped pieces, some glue, and a paint brush.  T decided to turn her finished product into a pencil holder for daddy's desk at work, but it could have also been a flower vase or several other things!  Enjoy!

Cut tissue paper into random sized pieces.

I had her put glue into a glass bowl, add a few tsp
of water to water it down to a paint consistency.

Paint the glue onto the glass, then start layering tissue.

Paint more glue on top of the tissue to help it lay flat against the jar.

Overlap colors fill in gaps.
Our finished masterpiece waiting to dry.

Some Very Hungry Caterpillars

We made some really hungry caterpillars this weekend!  Tons of fun, both kids loved it, and of course we have had to read the book several times since!

When did this happen???

Miss Kaelyn is now 18 months old!  Seriously it feels like she just arrived!  As you can see her daddy modified a balance bike just for her, she was determined to ride her sisters!  She is talking up a storm!  Her phrases include, "More Mama" "I need" "Bye Bye" "MINE" "Dear Jesus..." (in context of praying, that one melts my heart).  "Yes Jesus Loves Me" (in a singing voice) "Me Go"  "Me Bike" "Cookie" "Daddy" "T"  "Dog dog" "Kona" "Good Girl" and a ton more!

A Day at the Park!

Today we went to the park, it was a REALLY windy day, but I think it was good for the girls to get outside for awhile!  Plus gave me a great chance to torture them with the new camera!  I only took 150 pictures =)  Anyway here are some of what I think are cute pictures from today!
Love this picture of little sister watching big sister!

goof totally started posing!

They had this very intense conversation going on... just wish I could have gotten a better angle.
